The Stop & Listen

The Stop and Listen, formed in 2023, is an old-time band based in Madison, WIsconsin. They play hot fiddle tunes, jug band blues, and bluegrass-inspired stringband music with unique instrumentation and harmony voices. The band is fronted by Daniel Plane (cello/fiddle) and Calvin Woodring (harmonica), who trade off lead vocals and harmonies. Adam Helt-Baldwin provides bass, harmonies, and harmonica. Mike Tiboris adds clawhammer banjo rhythm and tenor banjo. It’s a chimerical mashup unlike any other.
